SSC CGL Tier-I, Tier II, Tier III, and Tier IV Syllabus in detail

SSC CGL syllabus

Every Year Staff Selection Commission Conducts Combine Graduate Level Exam to Recruit the candidate for Group-B and Group-C Post which Includes various Ministeries/Department/Organisations of the Government. SSC CGL comprises of Four Tiers or Phases and Tier I and Tier II needs to be clear and left will depend according to the post.

The Four Tiers are (Tier I, Tier II, Tier III, Tier IV) Every tier has its own Exam pattern and we will tell you the detailed syllabus and exam pattern of Every Tier which will help you to make a good strategy so the candidate can score good marks in the exam.

SSC CGL Tier-1 exam will conduct from 4th June to 9th June 2019 and Tier-II exam from 11th September to 13th September 2019. The student can check full detail of Exam calender Released by SSC.

SSC has changed exam pattern so before starting for the preparation of exam candidate should check all the changes:

  • Tier I exam will be of 60 minutes duration
  • Tier II exam comprises four exams and each exam will be of  60 minutes duration
  • Tier-III exam will be of 60 minutes duration
  • No Sectional cut-off

SSC CGL Tier-I Exam Subject Distribution:

SSC CGL Tier I exam is comprised of four subjects which include Quantitative aptitude, Reasoning, General awareness, and English.each subject contains 25 questions (Total Question 100) and the time duration of Tier I is 60 minutes.

Note:

  • In SSC CGL Tier I exam 2019 0.50 will be deducted for every wrong answer(negative marking).

General Awareness Section in Tier I exam is scoring section. this section includes various subjects (History, Polity, Economics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology).following are the detail of each subject:

Physics:

SI Unit, important Laws, Motion, work, energy and power, Pressure, Wave, Sound, Heat, Light, Static Electricity.Magnetism,Scientific Instruments,,Electronics,Inventions,Important Discoveries,Surface Tension,Current Electricity,Viscosity.

Chemistry:

Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Oxidation and Reduction, Electrolysis, Carbon and Its compounds, Fact about Some Metals, Non- metals, Solution, Acid and Base, Metallurgy, Fuels, Behavior of gases

Biology:

SSC Tier II Brief Syllabus:

SSC Tier II Exam comprises of  Four Exam Papers Quantitative abilities, Statistics and General Studies ( Finance and Economics) and English Language & comprehension. Only those student are allowed to seat in SSC CGL Tier II exam Who have cleared SSC Tier I exam. Each section in this tier has 2 hours of time duration.

SSC CGL Tier I and  Tier II Exam Is compulsory for all post. Tier III and Tier IV Exam are Depends on the post Selection.

Notes:

  • Statistics paper is only for those candidates who apply for the post of JSO (Junior Statistical Officers).
  • The time duration for those candidates who are Visually Handicap is 2 hours and 40 minutes.
  • General Studies (finance and Economics) paper is for those who apply for Assistant Audit Officers or Assistant Account Officer.
  • In SSC CGL Tier II exam  0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in English Language and comprehension exam.
  • 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer in General Studies (Finance and Economics), Quantitative Abilities and Statistics.

Detail Syllabus of SSC CGL Tier II General Studies (Finance and Accounts/Economics and Governance):

Finance and Accounts (Total no. of marks=80):

  • Fundamental Principle and the Basic concept of Accounting
  • Financial Accounting.
  • Basic Concept of Accounting.

Economics and Governance(Total no. of marks=120)

  • CAG of India (Comptroller & Auditor General of India)
  • Theory of Production and Cost.
  • Indian Economy.
  • Role of Information Technology in governance.
  • Money and Banking.
  • Economics Reforms of India.
  • Theory of Demand Supply.
  • Basic Concept of Economics and Introduction to Micro Economics.
  • Finance Commission.

SSC CGL Tier III Exam Pattern and Syllabus:

SSC Tier III exam is Descriptive paper and qualifying in nature at least 33 % should score by the candidate to clear this exam, rest depends on the cutoff. The examination mode of Descriptive exam is pen and paper mode.

The time duration for Visually Handicap or suffer from cerebral palsy is 80 minutes.

The descriptive exam will be Bilingual in Hindi/English. The choice is given to the candidate before the exam 

SSC CGL Tier IV Exam Pattern And Syllabus:

Data entry speed test (DEST) :

  • DEST will be conducted to check the candidate typing speed.
  • In this candidate have to write a passage of about two thousand(2000) key depressions within 15 minutes.
  • DEST  is Qualifying in nature.

Computer Proficiency Test (CPT):

  • Computer Proficiency test exam is not compulsory for all post.
  • Computer Proficiency Test is comprised of three modules:
  • Word Processing.
  • Spread Sheet.
  • Generation of Slides.

The last step of this process is Document Verification.
